Ashurst releases book for bicentenary year

Ashurst has announced the release of Ashurst: The story of a progressive global law firm – the first 200 years, a book to celebrate its bicentenary year in 2022.

The book has been written to reflect on the firm’s progressive foundations and showcases interviews with current and former Ashurst people around the world. The interviewees shared intriguing stories and powerful insights about culture, strategy, inclusion, merit and trends shaping legal practice.

The book was authored by Professor Stuart Kells, a Melbourne based author, journalist, professor at La Trobe University and two-time winner of the Ashurst Business Literature Prize.

Global CEO Paul Jenkins said: “It was 200 years ago that William Henry Ashurst started his own legal practice in London. Fast-forward to 2022 where Ashurst is a truly global firm. To mark our bicentenary, we are delighted to launch this book, which celebrates our rich legacy as well as our progressive future. I look forward to building on our fantastic progress as we embark on our third century.”

Global chair Karen Davies added: “This is an exciting time in our history, 200 years is a significant milestone and I think our founders would be proud to see how far we have come and the progress we have made. A huge thank you to everyone who has played a part in our journey. We hope that you enjoy reading this unique publication which reflects what is so central to who we are as a firm – our people.”
