Axiom welcomes Lord Drummond Young
Axiom Advocates has announced that Lord Drummond Young has joined the stable.
Lord Drummond Young returns to the bar in a limited capacity after a distinguished career and almost 20 years judicial experience as a judge in the Court of Session.
He does so for the purposes of accepting instructions as an arbitrator (domestic or international), mediator and to provide opinions and expert advice. After a career spanning 25 years at the bar, Lord Drummond Young was appointed a Senator of Justice in 2001 and sat in the commercial court until 2012 before being appointed to the Inner House to 2020.
Lord Drummond Young called to the bar in 1976 and took silk in 1988 prior to his elevation to the bench. He was also chairman of the Scottish Law Commission.
Axiom’s Kenny McBrearty QC said: “Axiom is delighted to welcome Lord Drummond Young back to the bar and to welcome him as a senior member of Axiom.
“His vast experience and contribution to Scots law is a valuable addition to Axiom. I have no doubt given his wealth of experience and knowledge, he will be much in demand and will very much be at the forefront of alternative dispute resolution.”
