Balfour and Manson kicks off 2021-2022 charity push
Staff at Balfour and Manson took on a range of challenges focused on the number 100 to kick off their fundraising push for their new 2021-2022 charity partners Heath In Mind and AberNecessities.
Staff did 100 laps of their gardens and ran up 100 flights of stairs, while one told 100 jokes online and another danced for 100 minutes to 1970s music, to name just a few of the challenges undertaken. The firm has already raised more than £1,200 from the weekend.
Stephanie Zak, a partner who heads up Balfour and Manson’s Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, said: “It was an amazing weekend effort by the firm for #CaptainTom100 - and a brilliant start to our fundraising year. As restrictions ease, we will do more team fundraising activities. They are a great way to promote positive mental health by bringing work colleagues together in shared, fun activities, as well as supporting and raising awareness for good causes.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be working with Health in Mind, which has supported people with mental health issues for almost four decades. The challenges of Covid-19 lockdowns had enormous impacts on everyone’s mental health. Everyone has been affected differently and organisations like Health in Mind can provide the specific support individuals need.”
Lauren Hill, of Health in Mind, said: “We are thrilled to have been chosen as Balfour and Manson LLP’s Charity of the Year. As a local charity, we rely on support and donations from businesses like Balfour and Manson LLP to allow us to continue promoting and supporting positive mental health and Wellbeing within communities in Scotland. We are looking forward to working with the team to raise awareness of mental health and the support that is available.”
Julie Clark-Spence, who heads up the Aberdeen office, said: “Every child deserves the best start possible in life, and AberNecessities aims to ensure that the children of disadvantaged families across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire have the basics they need. Balfour and Manson is very pleased to support this vital work.”
AberNecessities founder, Danielle Flecher-Horn said: “We rely on the generosity of our community and fundraising to make our work possible, and the support of Balfour and Manson will help us make sure we can continue to support families and children across the North-East. We are determined to help underprivileged families across the city and shire to ensure no child goes without; partners like Balfour + Manson are truly helping make that happen.”
