Balfour and Manson wins Scottish Police Authority contract
Balfour and Manson has been appointed as one of the suppliers in a new framework to provide legal advice in a range of areas to the Scottish Police Authority (SPA) and Police Scotland.
The firm submitted a successful tender to the SPA/Police Scotland in three different areas of its framework: general litigation and advice; advice and representation on complaints, conduct & disciplinary matters (in respect of police officers and staff); and inquiries & reviews.
David Short, partner and head of litigation at Balfour and Manson who will be part of the team carrying out the work, said: “This is a very significant win for the firm, at a time when there is huge competition for new business in the legal sector. We are very pleased to have tendered successfully and our team will carry out the work to the very highest standards.”
Robert Holland, a member of the senior management team at Balfour and Manson, said: “The success reflects the firm’s strength in litigation, regulatory and disciplinary matters and related fields. This is a very exciting piece of cross-disciplinary work for Balfour and Manson and shows that we are capable of competing successfully with larger Scottish firms for this type of high-quality contract.”
The contract started on 10 April and runs for two years, with an option to extend for a further two periods of up to 12 months.
