Beyond the Basics: Arbitration, at home and abroad
The Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association (SYLA) is delighted to introduce a new event on “Arbitration, at home and abroad” in November.
The seminar in the SSC Members’ Lounge, Edinburgh on Thursday 2 November, 6.15pm, with guest speakers Brandon Nolan and Ryan Whelan, promises to be “extremely informative”.
Mr Nolan, partner at Pinsent Masons, is past chairman of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in Scotland and has extensive experience of arbitration and adjudications. His practice includes advising on all aspects of construction law including contract, drafting, consultancy, advisory and disputes work in the construction, engineering and oil and gas sectors.
Mr Whelan, associate at Gibson Dunn, is based in the Middle East and has a broad practice including construction, energy and investment disputes. He has experience of litigation in the UK and UAE and has acted in arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA, SIAC, DIAC, DIFC-LCIA and ADCCAC Rules.
The event will close at 8pm which will allow time for networking after the seminar. This event will count as 1 hour of CPD.
