Blackadders raises £3,000 for Dundee Carers Centre
Blackadders LLP has raised more than £3,000 for Dundee Carers Centre.
A cheque for £3,025.68 was presented to the charity following fundraising by Jack Boyle, a trustee of the centre and director at Blackadders along with the Blackadders’ employment team and friends.
Jack and colleagues Simon Allison, Katrina Barron, Blair Duncan and Laura Lindsay from the firm’s Dundee office, along with Douglas McConnell from Duncan & McConnell Solicitors, tackled the 25-mile Kiltwalk, and also organised a pub quiz and raffle.
Mr Boyle said: “It is fantastic to be able to donate such a significant sum to a local charity that plays such an important role providing valuable support to various people in the local community, predominantly people who care for their loved ones and disabled people.”
“The charity organises a variety of essential support mechanisms such as helping people access benefits to which they are eligible, services in schools for young carers and short break services for carers to provide respite. Being a carer for a loved one can often lead to the carer neglecting their own wellbeing and feeling isolated. The Carers Centre strives to support such people, working with carers aged from 8 to 95, with a number of free services.”
