Blackadders’ team dons tartan to raise valuable funds
A team of intrepid walkers from Blackadders LLP has raised more than £4,000 for Rachel House Children’s Hospice in Kinross.
The 17-strong band of adventurers walked more than 20 miles from St Andrews to Dundee while wearing kilts.
Trainee solicitor Jade Crawford, who led the women’s team (Blackadders’ Barbies), had a nephew, Calum, who was treated at Rachel House for a severe brain injury he had from birth, resulting in cerebral palsy.
The men’s team (Harry Potter and the Half Blood Sprints) was captained by employment law partner, Simon Allison.
CHAS provides care for Scottish children and young people with life-shortening conditions. The team at Rachel House offered support to Jade and her family through home visits, care and respite. Sadly, Calum passed away at the age of six.
Ms Crawford said: “The CHAS team were there, every step of the way, helping us process what had happened, even assisting with the funeral.”
Mr Allison said: “It is safe to say there were plenty of sore feet around the office for a few days afterwards but it was a fantastic event and we were all so pleased to be able to help such a good cause.”
