BLM partner appointed new chair of Forum of Insurance Lawyers in Scotland
BLM, the UK and Ireland’s leading risk and insurance law business, has announced the appointment of BLM partner Frank Hughes as the new chairperson of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL) in Scotland.
Mr Hughes replaces fellow BLM partner, Tony Murray as the new chairperson. Jonathan Clay, from the firm’s Manchester office, will remain on the national executive committee and Alison Cassidywho is based in BLM’s Belfast office will continue as regional representative for Northern Ireland.
As chairperson, Mr Hughes brings with him more than 25 years of industry experience. He is a much-respected lawyer conducting litigation across insurance litigation particularly concerning complex and high value claims.
He is an accredited specialist in personal injury law and acts as an expert witness in solicitor’s negligence cases.
Mr Clay is a member of BLM’s executive board, head of BLM’s general insurance sector and is customer relationship manager for two of BLM’s top ten customers.
Ms Cassidy manages the credit hire team in Belfast and advises customers during pre and post litigation on latest tactics to secure ultimate savings and reduce leakage on credit hire claims. She also defends high value employers’, public and road traffic liability claims for insurers, public bodies and self-insureds. Alison is also an existing member of the credit hire sector focus group.
