Boyd Legal appoints Gerry Cockburn as finance director

Experienced finance director Gerry Cockburn has joined Boyd Legal – bringing with him more than 25 years’ experience.

Previously head of finance at the Faculty of Advocates and having held key roles at Gilson Gray and Capita-owned Optima Legal Services, Mr Cockburn will now be finance director at the Edinburgh-headquartered outfit.

He said: “I’ve opted to make the permanent move to Boyd after experiencing the firm during recent consultancy work.

“I was struck immediately by the culture and feel that the timing for the switch is perfect, just as the firm is beginning to really establish itself within the Scottish legal and business landscape.

“There is an opportunity to build something special here – and I’m grateful to Peter Boyd and his team for bringing me into the such a key role.”
