Brodies’ IP team awarded gold ranking in global league table of trademark professionals
Brodies LLP has been awarded a gold ranking in the World Trademark Review’s global list of the 1000 leading trademark professionals.
The magazine describes Brodies as “the leading Scottish IP practice” and commends the firm for delivering “a premium service across all aspects of brand protection, with a strong prosecution and licensing practice complementing its robust contentious capabilities”.
World Trademark Review’s list – “The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals” (WTR 1000) is an independent ranking of “outstanding” firms and individuals in 60 countries based on a rigorous research process involving interviews with hundreds of clients and trademark specialists.
Led by partners Grant Campbell, Gill Grassie and Robert Buchan, Brodies’ IP team has represented various companies in high-profile disputes and commercial transactions over the past year.
This has included acting for travel review website TripAdvisor in a landmark dispute, and Loch Lomond Distillers in the sale of its global brand portfolio.
WTR 1000 praises Mr Campbell for having “a real affinity for the fine print of commercial contracts”, describes Ms Grassie as “a pioneer” in trademark litigation and “one of the big guns in contentious IP in Scotland”, and Mr Buchan as “a very strong litigator and commercial IP strategist”.
