Bruce Erroch QC appointed as sheriff
Bruce Erroch QC has been appointed to the office of sheriff in the Sheriffdom of North Strathclyde, based at Paisley Sheriff Court and will take up office on 1 May.
He graduated LLB (Hons) from the University of Glasgow in 1989. He was a solicitor until 1997 and was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1998.
He had a civil practice before entering the Crown Office as an advocate depute in 2009. He was appointed senior advocate depute in 2013.
Sheriff Erroch is also a convener of the Mental Health Tribunal, legal chair of the Scottish Social Services Council and a legal member of the Parole Board for Scotland. He took silk in 2018.
