BTO announces two new recruits for its family law team
BTO has announced the appointment of senior associate Morven Douglas and solicitor Brittany Thomas to its family law team.
Ms Douglas, an accredited specialist in family law and a trained collaborative lawyer, has practised exclusively in the field of family law for 16 years.
She brings to BTO her specialist expertise in cases with an international element, such as child relocation and removal of children within the UK, including experience of working for the Scottish government in international child abduction cases.
Ms Thomas is particularly knowledgeable in both financial provision and Hague abduction cases within the Court of Session. She also tutors in family law at the University of Edinburgh.
The new follows BTO’s announcement earlier this month that associate and accredited specialist Debbie Reekie has been admitted as a solicitor advocate. This will enable her to provide advocacy services direct to her clients as well as continuing to work with Scotland’s leading advocates.
Partner Lesley Gordon, who heads the team, said: “I am delighted to welcome Morven and Brittany to BTO’s multi-talented family law team. We are fortunate to be in a positon to offer our clients the full spectrum of services, as well as specialisms such as child relocation and abduction in the case of Morven and first-hand experience of the criminal justice system in the case of Debbie.
“I look forward to further developing our team and its range of niche services with Morven and Brittany on board.”
