BTO to host trainee webinar for law students
BTO has announced that as part of its “Working with You” initiative for trainees, the firm will be running a webinar to take the legal traineeship ‘experience’ to law students virtually.
Four BTO trainees who have recently accepted full time jobs with the firm, and have experience of working in a range of departments within BTO, have agreed to form a panel to share their traineeship experiences for this live Q&A session.
During the webinar, law students will have the opportunity to ask any burning questions they may have about the traineeship process, what to expect in terms of support and how to make the most of the traineeship experience.
Regan Wallace, a webinar panel member, and dispute resolution trainee said: “I cannot recommend the traineeship experience at BTO enough. The support given to trainees (from partners and support staff) is second to none and affords each trainee the opportunity to take ownership of tasks and gain experience in their areas of interest.
The culture within BTO is brilliant as the encouragement and development of trainees is at the forefront of the firm’s policy. There are also plenty of opportunities for socialising outside of the office! BTO has been a fantastic firm for me to undertake my traineeship and I have enjoyed every minute of it.”
BTO chairman, David Gibson, added: “We want to make the traineeship experience as beneficial and enjoyable as possible, and nurture future talent. We hope that this Q&A session will help future trainees who are about to embark on their legal careers.
We understand that many students will have no prior experience of working in a law firm and we thought we’d reach out to them and let more individuals benefit from the wisdom of our soon to be qualified lawyers.”
BTO’s panel will consist of:
- Regan Wallace – dispute resolution
- Lucy Ferguson – property & real estate
- Laura Nairn – family law
- Abby Bowes – wills, estates & succession planning
This session will take place via Microsoft Teams on Thursday 27 July, 13:00 – 13:45.
Future trainees can register to attend the event via Eventbrite.
