BTO to sponsor Helensburgh Art Club’s 70th annual exhibition
BTO Solicitors LLP is sponsoring Helensburgh Art Club’s 70th annual exhibition, which begins this weekend.
Helensburgh Art Club has the largest membership of any art group in the West of Scotland and currently has a waiting list for future members.
Art lovers in and around Helensburgh are invited to visit the special exhibition in the Victoria Halls from 5-12 August 2023 which will display club members’ artwork and The Mary Batchelor Award will be presented to the best seascape painting in the show.
Kirstine MacRae, a partner in BTO’s family law team who has been working in Helensburgh for almost 30 years, will officially open the exhibition at 7pm on Friday 4 August.
Margaret Cameron, club member and Helensburgh Art Club press officer, said: “This is a significant event in the summer scene in Helensburgh and it is hoped that local people and visitors will come along to see the wealth of talent on display. Entrance is free in order to make the exhibition and sale available to everyone.”
There are a variety of art groups within the club, including a painting group, life-drawing group and portrait group, all of which meet weekly in local venues and the club hosts regular activities for members, including lectures, demos and workshops.
David Gibson, BTO’s chairman, said: “We are delighted to sponsor and be a part of this exciting cultural event which provides an excellent platform for showcasing the arts and crafts of local talent in Helensburgh and District.
“As the exhibition displays an array of artworks, from paintings and drawings to sculptures from around 200 members of the Club, there should be something to suit everyone’s taste, and we are proud to have the opportunity to support this work and assist in showing it to the public.”
