Burges Salmon continues growth in Scotland with appointment of Stuart McMillan
Burges Salmon has appointed Stuart McMillan as a partner in its banking team in Edinburgh.
Prior to joining Burges Salmon, Mr McMillan was a partner at DLA Piper in Scotland, based in its Edinburgh office. He advises a wide range of banks and borrowers in project finance (including PFI/PPP and renewables), acquisition finance and real estate finance deals, frequently involving cross-border financing. He is qualified in both Scotland and in England and Wales.
He said: “Everyone in the market was aware of the successful launch of Burges Salmon’s Edinburgh office in May. Not only does the firm’s banking team manage complex financing transactions, and advise a diverse range of clients on all aspects of banking law, but it is also very well known for having some of the best lawyers in the country in the infrastructure, real estate and energy sectors.
“I’m therefore really pleased to be joining Burges Salmon at such an exciting time in its growth and helping the firm enhance its presence across these strategically significant sectors.”
Burges Salmon managing partner, Roger Bull, said: “We’re really excited to be able to announce Stuart’s arrival, which will further help us best meet the needs of our clients in Scotland and our commitment to the continued growth of both the firm and our long-standing successful Scottish practice.”
