Champagne garden party in aid of cancer research returns to Edinburgh for first time since 2019
It’s back! Cancer Research Racquet – the international group of legal and business professionals who raise money for cancer research – has announced the return of its Champagne Garden Party fundraiser, to be held on the evening of Friday 26 May 2023 in Edinburgh.
Back for the first time since 2019, this year’s Champagne Garden Party will return to the beautiful Eglinton and Glencairn Gardens, with music, food, a raffle and of course, lots of champagne and laughs! Live music on the evening will be performed by leading Edinburgh vocalist, Mary McMahon, together with a performance from The Edinburgh Jam Group, an Edinburgh-based music charity.
This year’s event will be the sixth held in Scotland for Cancer Research Racquet. Many within the group have fought cancer. They, their families and friends have benefited from recent advances in drug development and treatments, and now organise events across the world to raise funds for further research to benefit others. So far, the group has funded nine research grants for scientists to research various types of cancer and treatment.
The event is partnered with local charity Marie Curie, which works tirelessly in Edinburgh to provide physical, emotional and spiritual care for terminally ill patients together with support for the people who are close to them.
This year’s event is coordinated once again by Emma Johnston of Pinsent Masons, Jennifer Talbot of DLA Piper and Emma Boffey of Axiom Advocates.
They said: “After a hiatus during the pandemic, we are really delighted to return to the beautiful surrounds of the Eglinton and Glencairn Gardens for the return of the Champagne Garden Party, which promises to be, once again, a spectacular evening for a great cause.
“Back for the first time since 2019, we would like to make this year’s event the biggest and best yet. We are encouraging all involved in the legal and business communities in Scotland to support the event and bring along family, friends and colleagues for what promises to be a great night, raising money for two great causes.”
The Garden Party will feature live music, entertainment, food, a raffle, and of course, lots of champagne.
Tickets are priced at £35 per person and can be purchased here.
