Chiara Pieri becomes president of Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association
Chiara Pieri has been elected president of the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association following its AGM yesterday.
Miss Pieri, a solicitor with Shepherd and Wedderburn, has spent the last two years as vice president of the association.
She takes over from Ayla Iridag, a solicitor with Clyde & Co, who stepped down after two years in the post. She will spend her last year on the committee in the role of past president.
Laila Kennedy, a trainee solicitor at Ledingham Chalmers, was elected vice president, having previously been treasurer.
Patricia Taylor, formerly a non-executive committee member, was elected secretary while Maddie Thomas, a student at the University of Dundee, has been elected treasurer.
These executive officers are supported by a team of non-executive committee members comprised of Anna Hills (Anderson Strathern), Amina Amin (Jones Whyte), Brianella Scott (Harper Macleod), Kerri Montgomery (D.C. Thomson), Marsaili Van Looy (Burness Paull), Matthew McGovern (McGovern Reid) and Robyn Canning (University of Aberdeen).
