Chief Justice of India to speak at Edinburgh Law School
Dr Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, the Chief Justice of India, will deliver a public lecture at Edinburgh Law School next month.
The free event on Thursday 1 June, 5.15pm will focus on “Global Change and the Legal Profession, Past and Future: Perspectives from India”.
Dr Justice Chandrachud is the 50th and current Chief Justice of India, appointed to that post in November 2022. He has served as a judge of the Supreme Court of India since 2016.
He previously served as the chief justice of the Allahabad High Court from 2013 to 2016 and as a judge of the Bombay High Court from 2000 to 2013.
He is the longest-serving judge in the higher judiciary in India.
