Claims handler at Gildeas gains paralegal certificate

Gildeas Solicitors’ Sarah Jayne Millar has gained her paralegal certificate in Civil Litigation: Reparation Law.

Ms Millar has studied for a year to obtain the certificate, and credited the law firm for their support.

She said: “For the past year I’ve been working on gaining Accredited Paralegal status. The Law Society of Scotland provides voluntary accreditation to paralegals working in Scotland.

“The paralegal is given a defined professional status within their practice area, which for me is Civil Litigation: Reparation Law, and a set of standards to meet which are set by the Law Society.

“When I brought the idea of gaining Accredited Paralegal status to my manager, he was very enthusiastic about me embarking on the training.

“He and the whole team at Gildeas have encouraged me fully throughout the year long training course, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity with full support!”
