Cloch Solicitors sponsors biennial Lord Rodger Memorial Lecture

During 2018 Cloch Solicitors will continue its ongoing sponsorship of the popular biennial Lord Rodger Memorial Lecture at the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow, and also the Lord Rodger Lecture during the University of Baltimore/Maryland US/UK International Comparative Law Programme held at the University of Aberdeen during summer.

Past RFPG Lord Rodger Memorial Lectures include, in 2016: Lord Neuberger, ‘The Constitutional Role of the Supreme Court in the Context of Devolution in the UK’, and in 2014: Baroness Hale, ‘Psychiatry and the Law: An enduring interest for Lord Rodger’. The inaugural Baltimore/Maryland summer programme Lord Rodger Lecture was delivered in June 2016 by Lord Reed on ‘Judges and Their Travels’.

Lord Pentland (whose devilmaster was Alan Rodger QC) will give the 2018 address in July. In additon to the foregoing, the Lord Rodger Library (Scots Law library of the late Lord Rodger of Earlsferry which Cloch acquired in 2013), continues to grow via the addition of further of key legal texts and the promotion of work by various law students.
