Clyde & Co raises more than £4,700 for the Soldiers Charity
After many weeks of training and preparation, seven of Clyde & Co’s most adventurous employees took part in the Cateran Yomp to raise money for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity last month. The Yomp is an epic 54 mile walk in rural Perthshire; completed within 24 hours.
Harry Boyle, Kirsten Thomson, Rob Hovey and Chris Dunn all completed the Gold route (54 miles). Alison Tyler, Jennifer Harvie, and Natalie Gibb completed the Silver route (36 miles). All agree that it was one of the hardest challenges they’ve ever undertaken – both physically and mentally. In true Scottish summer fashion, it rained almost non-stop. As a result, everyone’s feet are still in various states of recovery!
Thanks to many generous donations, the team raised £4,794.43 for The Soldiers’ Charity. This includes the monies raised from the Stair Climb Challenge, tuck shops, and dress down day.
The Soldiers’ Charity gives a lifetime of support to serving soldiers, veterans and their families.
In return, the charity provides financial assistance when they are in need. The team got to see and talk to many veterans at the event and can all attest to the work undertaken by the charity.
Though the event is over, it’s not too late to donate! Anyone still wishing to contribute can do so here.
