CMS has announced the appointment of three new partners in Scotland.
The trio includes Robbie Somerville, a Glasgow-based lawyer within CMS’s corporate team, and his Edinburgh colleague Rory Thomson from the firm’s insurance and reinsurance group.
Also being elevated to the role of partner is Thibault Jeakings, who relocates from London to Edinburgh to further bolster the firm’s Scotland-based pensions practice.
They are among 56 new partner promotions announced by the firm across 28 cities and 18 countries around the world, with female colleagues accounting for 48 per cent of all global promotions.
Allan Wernham, managing director of CMS Scotland, said: “We’re delighted to announce three new partner promotions in Glasgow and Edinburgh which further develops the strength and depth of our team within Scotland.
“Our new partners have shown a strong commitment towards clients and colleagues, all of them embodying the core CMS values of collaboration and innovation. I look forward to working with them and supporting the continued success of their practices.”
Jae Fassam, partner in CMS’s Edinburgh-based pensions team, said: “I’ve enjoyed working with Thibault over the last few years and we’re very pleased to welcome him to the pensions team in Scotland.
“He’ll join me and senior colleagues Amanda Cooke and Claire Miller as part of our well-regarded team of 10 focusing on growth with our valued trustee and corporate clients.
“Thibault’s promotion and accompanying move north underline the high quality of expertise we provide to the pensions market in Scotland and across the UK.”
