CMS is holding a series of events across Scotland aimed at supporting further growth of the nation’s renewable energy sector.

The Future of Renewables Seminars will kick off on April 1 at CMS’s Glasgow office with follow up sessions taking place in Edinburgh on April 3 and concluding at the firm’s Aberdeen premises on April 30.

Along with expert speakers from CMS discussing grid and planning reform as well as the legal implications of using AI in renewables, the events will also feature input from highly-regarded industry figures. They include Richie Kidd of Close Brothers, a specialist in the financing of renewable energy projects and Adam Sroka of Hypercube, who will focus on the use of AI within the renewables sector. The Edinburgh event will also include a presentation from Ryan Macindoe of Balance Power outlining the core challenges facing energy developers.

CMS partner Kirsty Nurse, who will present a session on grid reform at the events, said: “I’m looking forward to joining my colleagues Mark McMurray and David Dennis at this series of events.

“The Future of Renewables Seminars brings people together from Scotland’s renewable energy industry to explore both the challenges and opportunities within this changing environment. Along with our contributions on primary legal issues impacting on the development of renewables, we are also delighted to welcome a range of leading specialist guest speakers at these key events.

“With the seminars being staged across our three Scottish offices, we strongly encourage renewable energy sector professionals to join us at these events, which are designed to help the industry maximise its full potential.”
