CMS moves to new Glasgow office
CMS’s Glasgow operation has completed its move to 1 West Regent Street, a newly completed Grade A property located in the city centre.
The firm, which currently employs 142 people in Glasgow, has taken the entire fifth floor and part of the fourth floor within the building comprising circa 22,000 sq ft of high quality office space, relocating from 191 West George Street.
The move marks a significant investment in one of CMS’s key Scottish operations and follows news earlier this month of the its three way merger, the largest ever in the UK legal services market, when it joined forces with Nabarro and Olswang making it the world’s 6th largest law firm.
Caryn Penley, executive partner at CMS Scotland , said: “The move to 1 West Regent Street comes at an exciting time as we look to provide a more modern working environment, to benefit both colleagues and clients.
“Since the 2014 combination between CMS and Dundas & Wilson, a firm with a 250 year legacy in Scotland, we have grown our practice north of the border.
“Following this latest merger, announced earlier this month, the new Glasgow premises underlines the strategic importance of CMS’s Scottish operations and the firm’s commitment to invest in here. We anticipate this latest merger will lead to further roles being created in Scotland.”
