CMS quiz raises funds for hospitality industry charity

The annual CMS Scotland Hotels & Leisure Charity Quiz has raised £585 for a Scottish charity supporting employees and students within the Scottish hospitality sector.

Hosted by the firm at its Edinburgh office, the event welcomed over 60 participants from a broad range of Scotland’s business community.

The proceedings were led by quizmaster Jamie Simpson, a senior associate at CMS, with commercial property agents and chartered surveyors firm Ryden emerging as the night’s winners. The victorious team was awarded with a gift voucher donated by the Edinburgh branch of steak and seafood restaurant Hawksmoor.

The funds raised on the night are being donated to the Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) Scotland, a charity which serves the nation’s hospitality sector. HIT Scotland encourages the development of employees working in the sector as well as students involved in hospitality-related studies.

Roland Smyth, head of the Scottish Hotels & Leisure Group at CMS, said: “We’re delighted to raise these funds for HIT Scotland, an organisation which is passionate about supporting workers and students in Scotland’s hospitality sector.

“We would like to thank all those who participated for making this year’s gathering such a successful event with a special congratulations to the Ryden team for coming on top in what was a very entertaining and also intensely competitive quiz night.”
