Colin McEachran QC MBE
Colin McEachran QC MBE passed away on Saturday at the age of 82.
The retired advocate was president of the Pensions Appeal Tribunal for Scotland (PATS) from 1995 until 2013.
He was also a major figure in the sport of shooting in Scotland and was the first secretary of the Scottish Shooting Council, which was formed in 1966. It eventually became part of Scottish Target Shooting (STS) in 2015.
Mr McEachran, who graduated with an LLB from Glasgow University in 1963, was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2018 for services to target shooting and Commonwealth Games Scotland.
STS said: “Colin was a true servant and promoter of shooting, leaving a positive and friendly impression with all of those who had the pleasure of working with and shooting alongside [him]. His infectious love for the sport was impossible to ignore and not catch when you spent time with Colin. The sympathies of everyone at STS goes to Colin’s family, friends and all those who knew him.”
