DAC Beachcroft Scotland expands with senior appointments
DAC Beachcroft Scotland has announced a number of senior appointments to its Edinburgh and Glasgow offices, in line with the firm’s plans to expand its business.
Beverley Atkinson has joined as an associate to lead and build the firm’s professional indemnity work in Scotland. Dual-qualified as a solicitor in both Scotland and England, she moves after 13 years with BrodiesLLP.
An experienced litigator, Ms Atkinson has defended high value claims against a wide range of professionals including solicitors, surveyors, accountants, tax advisers, IFAs, brokers and those in the construction/engineering arena. She also sits on the Law Society of Scotland complaints sub-committee.
Meanwhile, associate Annis Mackay arrives from bto to bolster the firm’s large loss team in Glasgow. She has a strong background in civil litigation, having worked exclusively in the personal injury field for more than ten years. Acting for insurer clients, her particular expertise is in defending complex, high value catastrophic injury claims which invariably involve significant life changing injuries, one of which uniquely involved periodical payment orders, as well as handling complex fatal claims.
Also joining the firm is Sarah Ennis, as a senior solicitor to its 12 strong casualty claims team in Scotland. Having successfully conducted a range of accident cases in both the sheriff courts and Court of Session, Ms Ennis brings expertise in not only EL and PL claims but also significant knowledge of industrial disease claims.
These appointments come on the back of recent expansion and promotions including Caitlyn Maccabe to the firm’s disease team; Karen Railton – previously the Robert Kerr Partnership – as senior solicitor in regulatory; Eoin Quinn and Stephanie Hood, both of whom join from Harper McLeod, as solicitors to the motor team; Iain Franklin, previously with Shepherd and Wedderburn, as solicitor to the property risk team; and Colin Atherton, formerly of Brodies, to the real estate team.
Casey Thompson and Kirsty Denham were also promoted to associate level.
