David Cullen to join Douglas Mill Consulting
Former Law Society of Scotland registrar, David Cullen, is to join Douglas Mill Consulting.
“When I heard David was leaving LSS after 30 years of sterling service, I called him to congratulate him and to see what his plans were. Asking him to come on board was a no-brainer. He has years left in the tank and a unique standing in, and knowledge of the profession. I am genuinely excited about working with him”, said Mr Mill.
David Cullen commented: ”I am delighted to have joined Douglas Mill Consulting which is both a new challenge and a great new opportunity for me. I have previously worked with Douglas while at the Society for 12 years. I am delighted to be part of his team again which will allow greater capacity and a wider range of services in his business.“
Professor David Flint, former senior partner of MacRoberts said: “It is obviously a difficult time for LSS to lose David’s expertise, voice of reason and profile in the profession.”
Mike Dailly, solicitor advocate at Govan Law Centre, said: “I hold David Cullen in the highest regard. From my own experience of regulation in the UK, Europe and Scotland over 12 years, David is an exemplar of all that is right and proper when it comes to legal services regulation. With the impact of Covid-19, particularly on High Street firms and legal aid practitioners, it’s great to have someone of David’s calibre and experience joining Douglas Mill Consulting.”
Alan Davies, Perth, added: “Having had quite extensive contact with David during my years as a local council member, I confirm him to be knowledgeable, approachable and a source of excellent advice. He will be a real asset to the firm and the profession.”
Ron Hastings senior partner of a major Borders practice added: “This is excellent news for hard-pressed town firms. David’s understanding of the needs of the profession is a real asset.”
