David Sheldon QC appointed Faculty member of SLAB

David Sheldon QC

The appointment of David Sheldon QC, as a Faculty of Advocates member of the Scottish Legal Aid Board has been announced by legal affairs minister Annabelle Ewing.

Mr Sheldon was a lecturer in law at Edinburgh University and associate dean of the School of Law before being admitted to Faculty in 1998. He took silk in 2013. He is the author of a number of legal textbooks and has contributed to works including Court of Session Practice and the Stair Memorial Encyclopaedia.

The SLAB appointment is part-time and runs for three years. Mr Sheldon replaces John Hamilton QC, who became a summary sheriff earlier this year, as a Faculty Member, and joins Alastair Kinroy QC, who is in his second term with SLAB.
