Davidson Chalmers lawyers walk the walk for Access to Justice
A team of 13 colleagues from Davidson Chalmers, along with a small dog, have raised hundreds of pounds to help some of the most vulnerable people in Scotland get free access to legal services.
The team, led by Mylo the dog, completed the Edinburgh Legal Walk on Monday to raise funds for the Access to Justice Foundation.
The foundation is the result of collaboration between the Bar Council, the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, the Law Society and the voluntary sector. It provides practical access to justice to those who would be otherwise unable to afford it.
The Davidson Chalmers colleagues were among the several hundred legal professionals who took to the streets of Edinburgh and Glasgow on Monday night’s fundraising walk which was led by
Rebecca Samaras, director of the Edinburgh Centre for Professional Legal Studies at Edinburgh Law School and Court of Session judge Lord Tyre.
The Davidson Chalmers team has so far raised just over £800 but their fundraising page remains open to accept further donations. It can be accessed on the following link:
