Davidson Chalmers Stewart welcomes Uplift UK success in judicial review

Davidson Chalmers Stewart and its client Uplift UK have welcomed the decision of the Court of Session to uphold a legal challenge against a proposed North Sea oil and gas development.
The Davidson Chalmers Stewart team praised the court’s decision to reduce the relevant consents given by the UK government to permit the development of the Rosebank oil field.
The oil and gas developers were given consent for Rosebank by the previous UK government despite warnings from scientific experts, conservation organisations, and opposition from hundreds of climate NGOs and grassroots groups. This includes Uplift, whose mission is to support efforts to transition away from oil and gas production in the UK.
