Deirdre Flanigan joins Optimum Advocates
Optimum Advocates has welcomed Deirdre Flanigan to the stable today.
She calls to the bar as a recipient of the Scottish Council for Law Reporting and as a Lord Hope Scholar. Prior to calling, she spent seven years as a solicitor and has significant advocacy experience in the sheriff courts across Scotland, the employment tribunals and in professional disciplinary hearings.
Her work on human rights and discrimination law has been published in academic journals and textbooks including the International Journal of Human Rights. She has drafted parallel reports to United Nations’ treaty committees and was a regular contributor to Oxford University Press’s reporting platform for international criminal case law.
Optimum Advocates stable director Gillian Ross said: “I am sure that Deirdre will receive a warm welcome and I wish her every success as she begins her career at the bar.”
Angela Bath, practice manager, said: “I am looking forward to working with Deirdre as she begins her career at the bar. She is a very welcome addition to our stable.”
