Dentons launches ‘The Big Blether’ event series in Scotland
Dentons is hosting a new series of events in Scotland entitled “The Big Blether” which will be dedicated to the issues that matter to its clients and communities.
Each event in the new series will feature speakers from all walks of like who will share their stories, thoughts, and opinions on important issues, including mental health and resilience.
The first event will be on 1 October and will feature a conversation with TV presenter, author and mental health campaigner Gail Porter.
The event will be hosted by Dentons partners Alison Bryce and Alison Weatherhead. Ms Porter will discuss the highs and lows of her life, her struggles with mental illness, motherhood, and how she has harnessed her experiences to help others overcome adversity.
Ms Weatherhead said: “Statistics have shown a rise in the number of us struggling to juggle home and work life and an increase of cases of depression and feelings of isolation. We are here to support our clients as we navigate these challenging times.”
Ms Bryce added: “These sessions will give people the chance to pause, learn from our speakers’ insights and refocus, as well as to chat amongst supportive peers and ask questions in a comfortable space.”
Ahead of her appearance on the series, Ms Porter commented: “I am excited to be joining Alison and Alison for The Big Blether event. Mental health and resilience are important topics particularly right now as people are struggling given the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The first event will be held virtually on 1 October at 9.30am. You can find more information and register for the event here.
