Dentons to host virtual Burns Supper
Global law firm Dentons is set to hold its Burns Supper virtually this evening, with the event featuring a number of the firm’s client-produced brands with a “Dentons Burns Night in a box”.
Food and drink for the night will include Baxters cock-a-leekie soup, Nairn’s oatcakes, Hall’s haggis neeps and tatties by Browns Food Group, whisky and gin miniatures by Springbank and Dunnet Bay Distillers and The Whisky Guy with a miniature from the Isle of Arran Distillers, and caramel wafers by Tunnock’s.
Over 250 people are attending the virtual event which will be compèred by TV entertainer Lorraine Kelly, with other Burns recitals and readings being delivered by former BBC Scotland political commentator Brian Taylor, Scottish broadcaster and singer Joy Dunlop, Edinburgh Rugby coach Richard Cockerill and player Rory Sutherland, and Dentons partners David McGrory, Stuart Fitzsimmons and Ross Nicol.
Mr McGrory, partner in Dentons’ corporate practice in Edinburgh, said: “The firm has so many outstanding Scotland-based clients and we wanted to reflect that for our first virtual Burns Supper with a Dentons Burns Night in a box.
“Burns Suppers the world over are celebrations of everything that is Scottish, from our food and drink to, of course, the incredible words of Robert Burns.
“We wanted to make tonight really special for our guests after such a challenging year, and we’re thrilled to also have so many celebrities from the worlds of entertainment and sports take part - it’s sure to be a wonderful evening.”
