Dentons welcomes seven NQs to Scottish offices
Dentons’ UK, Ireland and Middle East (UKIME) region has retained 78 per cent of trainees and solicitor apprentices who applied for newly qualified roles in the UK in 2024, with a quarter of its new lawyers taking up roles in Scotland.
Out of the 34 trainees and two apprentices who applied in the UK, 27 trainees and one apprentice have accepted newly qualified (NQ) roles commencing in the autumn.
Of the 28 newly qualified lawyers from the UK cohort, seven will be based in Scotland, with a further 19 based in London, one in Milton Keynes, and one joins the Middle East.
NQ Vaila Hornsby, who will work with the project disputes team in Scotland, said: “I am very excited to be re-joining the fantastic projects disputes team, where I sat with the team during my third seat in Edinburgh.”
Sarah Britton, who will join the people, reward and mobility team commented: ” I am thrilled to be joining the PRM team in Scotland as an NQ. I rounded off my traineeship with a fantastic six months as a secondee to a client in London, so I’m most excited about the opportunity to apply the valuable practical insights from my secondment to my work.”
Jennifer Quigley, who will join the real estate team in Scotland added: “I am looking forward to qualifying into the Scottish real estate team and am excited about the opportunity to work on a broad range of Real Estate projects and to embrace the new challenges and responsibilities that come with being an NQ.”
The full list of Dentons’ Scottish qualifiers also includes Hannah Johnston, who joins the litigation and arbitration team; Rachel Morrison, who joins the lending and restructuring team; and Laura Neville and Elise Turnbull, who both join the projects transactional team.
