DLA Piper’s Alistair Drummond running for UNICEF at London Marathon
DLA Piper’s Alistair Drummond (pictured) is set to run the London Marathon later this month, in an attempt to raise £4,000 for the firm’s charity partner,UNICEF.
The Edinburgh-based litigation lawyer’s efforts add to a string of fundraising and pro bono work aimed at helping the global charity to provide long-term humanitarian and development assistance to children and mothers in developing countries.
DLA Piper in Edinburgh has committed to matching Alistair’s fundraising efforts pound for pound.
Mr Drummond said: “DLA Piper and UNICEF have a unique global alliance, and in running the London Marathon I intend to show my support for such an important relationship both on a personal level and as a Partner of DLA Piper.
“The work that DLA Piper has completed for UNICEF most recently includes a program of support for improved child protection in Bangladesh as well as significant fundraising challenges, such as our UK-wide cycle challenge which raised a total of £32,146.
“It is vital that such work and support continues to improve the lives of children and their mothers throughout the world. Please donate generously and make a difference.”
