Donald Findlay QC tops advocates’ legal aid payments

Donald Findlay QC (pictured) earned more in legal aid payments than any other advocate in 2015-16, new Scottish Legal Aid Board figures show.

Mr Findlay was paid £288,000 in 2015-16, an 11 per cent increase on £259,000 in 2014-15.

The other top earners in 2015-16 were:

  • Anthony Lenehan - £278,000 (+15%)

  • Mhairi Richards QC - £274,000 (+63%)

  • Brian McConnachie QC - £256,000 (-15%)

  • Gordon Jackson QC - £251,000 (-11%)

  • Mark Stewart QC - £248,000 (+56%)

  • Ronaldo Renucci - £246,000 (+15%)

  • Thomas Ross - £239,000 (+45%)

  • Anthony Graham - £235,000 (+19%)

  • Lousie Arrol - £225,000 (+20%)
