A law student is hosting an evening with Donald Findlay KC in aid of charity.

John White, an LLB student at Edinburgh University, is raising funds for the Lawscot Foundation – which provides financial and mentoring support to aspiring solicitors from less advantaged backgrounds.

Mr Findlay will deliver his one man show Madeleine Smith – Did she or did she not? The case of Madeleine Smith, a 19th century Glasgow socialite accused of poisoning her lover, has intrigued historians and legal scholars for generations.

The event will take place on Friday 6 December in the Laigh Hall, Parliament House, Edinburgh.

Mr White said: “We invite everyone to join us hear from the renowned Advocate himself. Get ready to be inspired, entertained, and enlightened by his presentation of one of the most fascinating and debated cases in Scottish legal history.”

Tickets can be purchased here.
