Doors Open Day at the Faculty this weekend
The impressive Playfair corridor of the Advocates Library will be on public view this weekend, as the Faculty of Advocates again takes part in Doors Open Day.
On Saturday, 28 September, from 10:15am to 3:15pm, Library staff will conduct timed tours of the corridor, named after the Library’s designer, William Henry Playfair, and of the Law Room, which was once a court and the venue of the trial of William Burke, of Burke and Hare infamy.
Also, visitors can view Global Connections, an exhibition highlighting the global connections of the Library and the Faculty.
The Library tour has proved popular in previous years and places are limited, so it is recommended that places are booked on arrival in Parliament House.
