Dr Angus Campbell
Dr Angus Campbell, emeritus professor of law at the University of Aberdeen, has passed away at the age of 77.
He died on 26 October 2024 following a fall in his flat, having not fully recovered from being knocked down in King Street in February.
Born in 1947, Dr Campbell studied for his LLB (honours) degree at Aberdeen University before completing a PhD in Cambridge.
He then returned to Aberdeen to lecture in constitutional law, European law and public law from 1972 through to 2011 – a total of 39 years’ service.
“Many lawyers greatly benefited from his lectures and tutorials as students in Aberdeen,” Aberdeen University School of Law said.
“On his retirement Angus was awarded emeritus status and continued to research into his field of law. Angus was a good hard wording colleague and a great friend to many.”
A service of remembrance and thanksgiving will be held in Gilcomston South Church in Aberdeen on 21 November at 2pm. All are welcome.
The service will be streamed for those unable to attend in person.
