Dual qualification for Arnot Manderson advocate
Arnot Manderson Advocates has announced that stable member Stephen Donnelly has gained a dual qualification, becoming a member of the bar of England and Wales. This brings added depth to the stable’s existing cross-border expertise, with Iain Mitchell QC, Kenneth Campbell QC and Alan Inglis already in active practice on both sides of the border.
Mr Donnelly has accepted an offer of tenancy at Essex Court Chambers, described in the most recent Legal 500 as “the first port of call for commercial litigation and arbitration”.
He will continue to be in full practice at Arnot Manderson, bringing this additional experience to bear on his Scottish practice. Essex Court Chambers is ranked as “top-tier” set in seven practice areas, including commercial litigation, international arbitration, employment, VAT, and public international law, and Mr Donnelly has built up experience in each of these fields.
There is already a strong Scottish connection to the chambers, with former members including Inner House judge Lord Glennie as well as Dundee graduate Tim Eicke, who has recently taken up his place as the UK’s judge at the European Court of Human Rights.
