Dundee mooting team shines at international competition

Dundee University has performed extremely well in this year’s Telders International Moot Court Competition.

The Dundee team, consisting of Kasia Thomson, Lottie Haley-Lee, Lyndsey Franklin and Niamh Murray-Sheridan, came 10th out of the 25 teams from all over Europe litigating a fictitious case before the International Court of Justice.

This year’s case concerned the interception of a vessel on the high seas, confronting students with a vast set of legal questions, such as freedom of navigation, the return of asylum seekers, immunity of state officials and allegations of torture.

The team thoroughly enjoyed the competition and preparations and hope that 4th year law students will take up the challenge and compete in next year’s Telders International.
