DWF appointed to legal services framework for seven local authorities
DWF has secured an appointment to the legal services framework for seven local authorities across the north of Scotland.
The appointment, which will run for two years with the option to be extended beyond that, will enable DWF to provide commercial, regulatory and dispute resolution legal advice under the External Legal Services Framework for Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, Highland Council, Moray Council, Orkney Islands Council, Western Isles Council/Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and Shetland Islands Council.
Michael McLaughlin, Glasgow-based partner and UK head of employment at DWF, said: “This prestigious appointment is valuable recognition of the strength and breadth of public sector expertise that exists in our Scottish-based Public Sector team which is reinforced by the expertise in our wider UK team.
“We have worked very closely with Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City Councils for a number of years. We have also done a lot of work in the past with the Highland Council. We welcome the opportunity to work with Orkney, Shetland, Highland, Moray and the Western Isles/Comhairle nan Eilean Siar.
“We look forward to developing our relationship with these important local authority partners.”
DWF was also recently appointed to deliver full-service commercial legal advice to public sector contracting authorities across England & Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland as part of the UK government’s Crown Commercial Service (CCS) legal framework panel.
