DWF supports ‘Save a Life for Scotland’
DWF has trained 50 colleagues in the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices to administer CPR to support “Save a Life for Scotland” and to help raise awareness of the importance of bystander CPR.
The achievement coincides with the launch of “Save a Life for Scotland” campaign on Restart a Heart Day.
The new initiative aims to increase public awareness of how to help save the life of someone who has suffered a cardiac arrest and encourage 500,000 people in Scotland to get trained in CPR to save an additional 1000 lives by 2020.
Philip Knight, senior solicitor at DWF Edinburgh and first responder with Scottish Ambulance Service and Heartstart trainer for the British Heart Foundation who trained all 50 DWF colleagues, commented: “It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm of our people to give up their time to learn CPR. From my own experience as a first responder I know the importance of bystander CPR and it really can be the difference between life and death.”
The Save for a Life for Scotland launch event will be held at the National Galleries in Edinburgh between 10am and 4pm today.
