Edinburgh Law Review scoops prestigious award
The Edinburgh Law Review has been awarded the “BIALL Legal Journals Award 2016” for the quality of its content and advancement of scholarship in Scots law.
Edinburgh Law Review editor, Professor Martin Hogg, received the award from Karen Palmer, president of BIALL, at BIALL’s First Night Dinner which took place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Dublin on the 9th June.
Reflecting the thoughts and deliberations of the adjudication panel for this award, Ms Palmer said: “This year’s winning title stood out for the scope and depth of its content, combining the very best in traditional academic legal journal publishing in editorial authority, layout and quality of indexing with a broad range of original contributions advancing contemporary scholarship in the law of its principal jurisdiction.”
The Legal Journals Award was established in 2001 by BIALL’s Legal Information Group (LIG).
From 2007 it became the responsibility of the awards & bursaries committee (ABC) which now administers the prestigious award.
Professor Hogg said: “I was delighted to receive this award on behalf of the entire publishing and editorial team.
“The award is a gratifying recognition of the way in which in the last twenty years the Edinburgh law Review has established itself as a leading legal journal both within the UK and internationally.”
