Edinburgh lawyer Aisling Scott triumphs on Come Dine With Me
Congratulations are due to solicitor Aisling Scott, who won last week’s Come Dine With Me in Edinburgh.
Aisling’s fellow contestants had some difficulty pronouncing her Irish Gaelic menu offering on Wednesday’s episode, which included Ae sicín pâté, about which she said: “Hopefully my guests don’t vomit when they taste it.”
Tasting it she said “it’s not great”.
Smashing up chocolate biscuits for her cheesecake base with a rolling pin, she whispered, “I pretend it’s my boyfriend’s face”.
The solicitor served up a welcome drink of Black Velvet to her guests: two-thirds champagne and one third Guinness, eliciting the response “oh dear” from fellow contestant Bruce.
However Aisling’s misgivings about her menu were unfounded; her guests were extremely impressed with the pâté, which was variously described as “smooth” and “scrummy”.
Her main course – lamb – was also very well received and was described as “amazing”. However, retired window display manager Katy was unable to eat it “simply because it’s such a gentle creature”.
Aisling’s superb performance garnered her two perfect 10s and an overall score of 35, bagging her the coveted £1,000 on Friday – which she kindly shared with Katy, who came in second place.
