Edinburgh Napier to host free conference on AI in the legal profession

Edinburgh Napier Law Society and Law Clinic will present a conference next month on the use of AI technology in the Scottish legal sector.

Professor Burkhard Schafer (professor of computational legal theory, Edinburgh Law School) will present the conference’s keynote address, and sessions will feature speakers from Burness Paull, Shepherd and Wedderburn, and Avail. There will also be time allocated for roundtable discussion and questions.

Topics to be covered will include the ethical implications of introducing artificial intelligence into legal practice, the impact of artificial intelligence on the market structure in the legal sector, and the ways in which legal technology providers can aid in adapting and modernising legal practice.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided for all attendees. This event is CPD verifiable.
