Education law specialist joins Cairn Legal
Cairn Legal has announced that Iain Nisbet is joining the firm as a consultant solicitor.
Mr Nisbet is a noted specialist in the field of education law, with particular expertise in additional support needs, equality in education and Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC). He is the only solicitor in Scotland to receive a band 1 ranking in the education (Individuals) category within the Chambers UK legal directory, and one of only three in the UK.
The firm currently speciliases in helping families affected by learning disaiblity, dementia, mental health and brain injury. The new service will sit alongside exising areas of expertise such as guardianships, powers of attorney and using trusts to protect inheritance and provide a secure future.
Nicola Smith, principal solicitor at Cairn Legal, and Mr Nisbet last worked together at Govan Law Centre over a decade ago and both have continued to work in the field of social welfare law. This new collaboration brings together two of Scotland’s leading practitioners in disability law and promises a bright future for the firm.
