Mitchells Roberton partner Euan David passed away on 20 October at the age of 64.

Mr David was a lawyer for over 40 years, having graduated LLB from Glasgow University in 1979, and had a wide-ranging area of practice in a variety of firms before joining Mitchells Roberton in 1996.

He spent over 25 years with the firm, becoming an associate in 2005, and throughout that time he practised in the areas of residential property and security work. He was a well-loved and frequently consulted member of the firm and always took time to help, be it clients or colleagues.

He was a great storyteller and conversationalist with a keen interest in sport, politics and public affairs. He played rugby at club level for many years after school and was still playing 5-a-side football until a few years ago. He had a great sense of humour.

His overarching characteristic was kindness: he had time for everyone and was genuinely interested in people. He had a knack of knowing when someone could do with a kind and supportive word or a bit of encouragement. Throughout these last months of illness, he did not lose any of that and continued to think of others before himself right up until the end.

Mr David is survived by his wife, Julie, two adult sons, Jamie and Robbie, and his sister Myra.

The firm said: “He will be sorely missed by us all and we extend our good wishes to his family.”
