Event: ESG crisis management workshop
Dentons is hosting an ESG (environmental, social and governance) workshop, designed to give attendees practical, hands-on experience dealing with an ESG crisis.
During its pilot workshop in October 2023, the firm had some interesting discussions around how ESG now presents the same board-level risks that cyber attacks, data breaches or major health and safety events have. What came as a surprise to many was the sheer breadth of ESG-related challenges that the business may need to deal with, many of which were touched upon in the workshop, including disclosure, reputation, internal investigations, greenwashing, supply chain impacts, whistleblower risk, direct and indirect commercial impact, global collaboration and litigation.
Attendees will be given the chance to strategise with their peers and Dentons’ lawyers on various hypothetical ESG related risks they may face in the future. By the end of the session, attendees will have some practical steps that could be implemented straight away. The workshop will cover:
- Initial crisis management and how to spot an issue
- Handling critical supply chain risks
- Handling a potential FCA and SFO investigation
- Protecting your brand and avoiding litigation
- Litigation strategies
The workshop will take place in our Glasgow office between 9.30 – 12.45 on May 15 with an option to join the firm for a light breakfast at 9.00 and lunch at 12.45.
